Braincaps were implants installed into the brain to allow for 'virtual reality experiences' and could also be used as a computer to read documents and to send messages. They were installed in everyone in the Fourth Millenium. The brain engineer would first use lasers to kill all the hair and then place nano-wires in through the scalp. Then, the braincap would be installed. During the installation the receiver would be put into deep sleep. The braincap would then proceed to test how he perceived normality as well as mental tests. It is known that Frank Poole, when he was revived in the Fourth Millenium, had a braincap installed during his stay on the Africa Tower in Star City.
